Plans for 2007-2008: A message from Maestro Eve Queler
Dear Subscriber and Opera Lover,
You have been the most amazing audience. All of us on the stage love performing for you and are much inspired to continue OONY’s tradition for you. Some of the great opera singers who have appeared repeatedly with OONY such as Renée Fleming, Aprile Millo, Marcello Giordani, Dolora Zajick, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Paul Plishka as well as many of the new, upcoming stars have united in offering their services to assure that OONY will continue to flourish.
We are currently devoted to assuring you a splendid season. We have received major commitments from our supporters, and that overwhelming show of support will permit us to commit to the full season. I now want to ask you to hold December 13, 2007, February 27, 2008, March 6, 2008 and April 13, 2008. Please mark your calendars.
The events will be in order, Verdi’s I DUE FOSCARI, Bellini’s LA SONNAMBULA and a Gala of Arias and duets reliving great OONY moments, with the great singing you have come to expect from us. The Gala, March 6, 2008 will be my 100th performance with OONY at Carnegie Hall. Edgar, to be performed on April 13, 2008 will complete OONY's 2007/2008 season.
